The First University degree awarding ceremony in 2018

On Saturday, March 31st 2018, the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE) solemnly organized a University degree awarding ceremony for 1,010 new graduates (engineers and architects) of K58 classes and the previous classes.

Participants included: Guests – Mr. Le Trong Nghia as Director of Zamil Prefabricated Steel Buildings in Vietnam; Mr. Nakajima Yasuhiro as General Director of Hirose Co. Ltd in Hanoi, Vietnam. From the NUCE: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa – Secretary of the University Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh – Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice Rector; Prof. Dr. Phan Quang Minh – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Dung – Vice Rector; MSc. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan – Vice Chairwoman of the University Labor Union; MSc. Nguyen Van Hung – Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Youth Union of the NUCE; MSc. Nguyen Trung Luan – President of the Student Union; Prof. Dr Pham Van Hoi – Vice President of the Union of Former Lecturers, along with representatives of Faculties and Departments, lecturers, academic staff and Faculty/Institute assistants, responsible staff for classes of graduates. Especially, there were 1,010 new NUCE graduates from Civil Engineering and Architecture/Planning

To start the ceremony, on behalf of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Secretary of the University Party Committee and Rector of the NUCE - congratulated all the new engineers and architects on having graduated from the NUCE and sent them his best wishes. He appreciated the progress and efforts that the students had made and felt proud to have accompanied them along the way to fulfill their goals. He hoped that the graduates would continue the tradition of the NUCE to begin their new pathways to a bright future. They would be the ones who help enhance the status of the University by making substantial contributions to the development of the country, communities and families. On behalf of the University leaders, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa expressed his gratitude to the NUCE lecturers and staff over the years for their contribution to the development of human resources, as well as to the development of the University. He would also like to thank all the external organizations and partner institutions for their great support in recent years.

After the Rector’s speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thi – Head of the Department of Education and Training – announced the Decision to recognize the graduation of the first group of students in 2018 signed by the NUCE Rector, conferring upon 1,010 students, and chaired the ceremony to honor every graduate with a graduate’s hat. There were 894 full-time students (706 K58 students and 188 students from previous classes), 01 student from the standard double-degree program, 41 students from the standard second-degree programs, 63 students from standard inter-university degree programs (53 K11 students and 10 students of previous classes), 11 students from other standard degree programs (8 students from K27 classes and 3 students from previous classes). Among the new graduates of K58, K11 and K27 classes, 537 were awarded for their achievements in studies and other extracurricular activities.

After that, the representatives of Hirose Co. Ltd in Hanoi and Zamil Vietnam granted scholarships to NUCE excellent students.

On behalf of all new graduates, Mr. Nguyen Nhat Quang from the Faculty of Road and Bridge Engineering and Ms. Dang My Linh from the Faculty of Building Economics and Management offered beautiful flowers to the Rector, and expressed their gratitude towards the NUCE lecturers and staff for their support throughout the years they studied at the University. They said that they would try to work as well as they could in the new working environments. Mr. Nguyen Nhat Quang from the Faculty of Road and Bridge Engineering confirmed that graduation would be another beginning of learning in a different way while Ms. from the Faculty of Building Economics and Management promised to be self-confident and creative, and meet the expectations from lecturers as well as parents.

Many congratulations to new engineers and architects on having graduated from the NUCE and starting a new chapter in their lives, where they will have new experience. It is believed that they would quickly integrate into new working environments and succeed in their future careers, with all ambitions and dreams, contributions to the development and they will become model citizens.
